Enjoy interactive learning in the arts with age appropriate activities designed for childrend with a parent, grandparent, or caregiver.

Please consult each age heading for maximum enrollment.

Join Amanda and her son Aiden for an exciting texture discovery! First, we’ll play with cooked noodles and wooden blocks as we listen to a story. Then, we’ll search the gallery for sculptures featured in the special exhibition, Roman Art from the Louvre. Finally, we’ll make our own soft, squishy sculptures that will harden overnight.

Join Amanda and her son Aiden for a fun-filled class about big and little shapes! We’ll start by listening to a story while we play with big and little balls. Then, we’ll search the gallery for art that is big and little. When we return, children will color with a big crayon and a small crayon on a sheet of construction paper. Parents and children will then each print their hand on the paper, making one large handprint and one small one!

Finally, we’ll create a mask of our favorite creature using pre-made masks, crayons, and collage materials.

Let’s visit the gallery to read a fun story and discover ancient Roman sculptures.  Then, we will return to the classroom to talk about relief sculptures and form a slab of clay.  Next, we’ll add more clay to our slab and carve it to make a very simple portrait of both parent and child.
