PAINTING WITH DIRT

Learn what art materials can be created using items from nature and everyday life, even dirt!  This class will provide a hands-on experience on how to make paints using dirt.  Then, we’ll paint an image of our own design onto panel.

Discover how to transform your portrait drawings into acrylic paintings on canvas!  Bring a photograph from home or sketch from artwork in the Museum.  We’ll start by visiting the galleries to view portrait bust sculptures and paintings in the special exhibition, Roman Art from the Louvre.  Then, following a demonstration in the classroom, you’ll receive one-on-one instruction as you develop skills to complete a finished portrait painting to take home.
