Tour de Quartz presents nineteen paintings and eighteen photographs produced by visual arts students at the 2006 Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain (OSAI). A two-week residential school, OSAI selects talented high school students through competitive statewide auditions. This year's photography students were taught by Steve Simon of New York City, and the drawing/painting students were led by Jakki Kouffman of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The summer classes focused on landscapes and self-portraits.
