This class is for those who have just made the leap into digital photography and want to learn how to operate their cameras with ease.  Learn how to operate the menu functions so that you can be more creative with your digital images and discuss how to take the best pictures possible. Next focus on taking photos and how to improve the overall composition of your images. There will be ample opportunity to discuss and review the creative and technical aspects of digital imaging. Students are expected to bring a digital camera, owner’s manual, and any wires and accessories that came with their camera outfit. Please bring a portable, lightweight tripod, if available.

This workshop focuses on handling different light situations and composition. Subjects covered include artificial light, natural light, flash photography, and how to handle low-light situations. The basics of artistically composing photographs also will be discussed. Students should bring a point and shoot or DSLR camera.

After understanding how to set your camera, how to handle different light situations, and how to take interesting photos, this workshop will handle the basics of digital photo editing, printing, and how to share your photos. Subjects include a discussion on the different photo editing software available, from free to affordable, different printing options, and how to share your photos online. Students should bring a point and shoot or DSLR camera as well as a laptop computer.

PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

This workshop is designed to be an introductory study of portrait photography. The student will gain an overview in posing portrait subjects, lighting, use of portrait studio equipment, and techniques. Students should bring a digital SLR camera and any flash they have. Optional equipment includes a tripod and a laptop computer with photo editing software installed.
