Community OutreachOKCMOA has a commitment to the arts that reaches beyond the walls of the Museum. Our community outreach projects engage people of all ages through active collaboration with partners throughout the community.

The Museum works with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic to provide a hands-on art activity for those families attending their Discovery Concert series.

Additionally, a new partnership was established with the OU Children’s Hospital to bring art activities to The Zone, a 6,000 square foot facility used as a recreation room for children and their families who are staying in the hospital for prolonged treatment. The Museum organizes a teaching artist to visit the Zone and guide children and teens in art making that will educate them and serve as a therapeutic outlet for stress and anxiety they may be having from being ill.

In 2011, Senior Outreach was expanded, and a new program was designed to help senior adults suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.  The Museum currently works with Cypress Springs and Epworth Villa memory care centers to bring a teaching artist monthly to create art with their residents.
