OKCMOA LAUNCHES TEEN PROGRAM – Press room
Teen Night at the Museum Held September 10, 2011
Youth Arts Advocates, the Museum’s teen art council, organized and planned the very first Teen Night at OKCMOA. This back-to-school party was a chance to connect teens to the Museum and to enjoy an evening of art, music, and fun. The event was a tremendous success with more than 480 in attendance.
Three local bands –Peach, Mighty Big Fire, and Shelton Pool– performed on the Roof Terrace, where there was free food and dancing.
The galleries were open late and featured exhibits by artists, Michael Eastman and Franco Mondini–Ruiz, as well as a high school string quartet playing contemporary pop music. There was a costume contest for the best art-related costume. The buzz is – there will be a second annual Back-to-School event September 2012.
