Oklahoma Arts Institute Exhibition at OKCMOA

The Oklahoma City Museum of Art will host the Oklahoma Arts Institute’s Tour de Quartz from Thursday, April 5 through Sunday, April 22. Exhibition Preview Lecture by Beth McKillop, deputy director for the Victoria and Albert Museum

Beth McKillop, who was appointed Deputy Director of the Victoria and Albert Museum in November 2010, joined the Asia Department as Keeper in 2004, later becoming Director of Collections, holds degrees from the Universities of Glasgow and Cambridge, and was a British Council scholar at Peking University in 1976. OKCMOA only U.S. Venue for Princely Treasures exhibit from the Victoria and Albert Museum

Oklahoma City, OK—The Oklahoma City Museum of Art will present Princely Treasures: European Masterpieces 1600-1800 from the Victoria and Albert Museum on February 15 through May 13, 2012. This is the first partnership between the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, which is the only U.S. venue for this exhibit. The Oklahoma City Museum of Art’s collection of glass by American artist Dale Chihuly reopens New Year’s Eve. Exhibited on the third floor, ILLUMINATIONS: Rediscovering the Art of Dale Chihuly presents a fresh look at the Museum’s popular Chihuly collection. Redesigned in collaboration with Chihuly Studio, the newly installed galleries will incorporate a unique design that features a three-dimensional approach to viewing some objects in the collection.
