Please join the OKCMOA Film Society and the OKCMOA Moderns as we roll out the red carpet and experience one of this year’s most compelling awards season contenders, At Eternity’s Gate!
Directed by Julian Schnabel (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly) and starring 2019 Best Actor nominee Willem Dafoe, At Eternity’s Gate offers an immersive look at Vincent van Gogh’s life in Arles and Auvers-sur-Oise, France; the development of his iconic painting style; and his tumultuous friendship with fellow artist Paul Gauguin (Oscar Isaac).
Works by van Gogh and Gauguin will be featured in OKCMOA’s upcoming exhibition Van Gogh, Monet, Degas: The Mellon Collection of French Art from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, opening June 22.
5:30 pm: Reception for Film Society and Moderns Members
6:15 pm: Screening of At Eternity’s Gate, a 2019 Academy Award nominee for Best Actor, followed by a discussion with OKCMOA Director of Curatorial Affairs, Dr. Michael J. Anderson and a special guest.
This event is free and exclusive to Film Society and Moderns members, plus guest. Reserve your tickets now!
“Julian Schnabel’s At Eternity’s Gate is a journey inside the world and mind of a person who, despite skepticism, ridicule and illness, created some of the world’s most beloved and stunning works of art. This is not a forensic biography, but rather scenes based on Vincent van Gogh’s (Academy Award nominee Willem Dafoe) letters, common agreement about events in his life that present as facts, hearsay, and moments that are just plain invented.” -CBS Films
