These workshops teach beginning students the fundamentals of working with hot glass. Students will focus on safety, the movement of glass, and movement within the glass studio. Practice the techniques of gathering, shaping, and jacking the glass to create three solid glass paperweights and receive an introduction to the cold working process of grinding glass. The first class will meet at the Museum with a lecture and tour of the exhibition, Dale Chihuly: Magic and Light. Remaining class time will be spent offsite at Blue Sage Studios.
