Monsters & Murderous Maidens:

Halloween in the Noble Theater

Just in time for Halloween, Museum Films is proud to present Monsters & Murderous Maidens, a fun and frightful series of  newly restored Japanese cult films, screening in OKCMOA’s Noble Theater October 30-November 1!

This year’s Halloween film series brings the original Japanese-language version of Ishirô Honda’s immortal nuclear-age fable, Godzilla (1954), back to the big screen alongside the director’s gloriously gonzo technicolor follow-up, Destroy All Monsters (1968), featuring 11 different rampaging monsters in widescreen Tohoscope.

Also screening in stunning new restorations, Toshiya Fujita’s Lady Snowblood (1973) and Lady Snowblood 2: Love Song of Vengeance (1973) served as major inspirations for Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill saga. Masterfully fusing balletic beauty and bloody carnage, this stylish cult series follows its black-hearted heroine on an all-consuming quest for revenge.

Film Society & Museum members receive discounted tickets to every film in our Halloween series, and all other Museum Films screenings. For more information about joining OKCMOA, visit:
