OKCMOA is saddened to hear of the passing of NBA star Bill Russell on July 31st. Russell was a Hall of Famer who led the Celtics to 11 NBA championships, then became the first Black head coach in a major American sports league. In 1980, Bill Russell was voted the greatest player in NBA history and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2011, presented by Former President Barack Obama. We are honored to feature a few of Bill Russell's profound moments on the court through our special exhibition "The Perfect Shot: Walter Iooss Jr. and the Art of Sports Photography." @realbillrussell #billrussell #nba Walter Iooss Jr., Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 1966.
