Tours
The Oklahoma City Museum of Art offers tours designed for all groups and ages! Groups will view special exhibitions and the Museum’s permanent collection including Chihuly Then and Now: The Collection at Twenty on all guided or self-guided tours.
Self-guiding groups can download the Be Your Own Guide document before their visit, or request a printed copy from the Tour Coordinator.
If you have questions or would like to book a tour, please fill out the form below.
Self-guided tours are available year-round during regular business hours for groups of 10 or more people. These visits are ideal for groups wanting to explore the Museum’s special exhibitions and permanent collection independently and for teachers wanting to develop discussions and connections between classroom lessons and the Museum’s works of art.
- Due to the high volume of tour bookings, self-guided tours should be requested at least one week in advance.
- A minimum of 10 people are required to book a self-guided tour.
- To ensure groups have the chance to socially distance in the galleries during their visit, a maximum of 40 people may self-guide in the galleries per hour. Groups wishing to bring a group larger than the maximum may request multiple self-guided visits in the same day upon availability.
- The Museum requires school-aged groups to have 2 chaperones for every 10-15 students. Please click here to read our guidelines for tour chaperones.
- The Museum does not require masks, however visitors are strongly encouraged to wear them while in the building.

Docent-guided tours are available year-round during regular business hours for groups of 10 or more people. Docent-guided tours must be booked at least three weeks in advance.
During these “highlights” tours, specially trained volunteers called docents facilitate age-appropriate conversations about works of art. Students are encouraged to think critically and creatively while looking closely at works of art.
Docent-guided tours last approximately one hour, after which your group is welcome to self-guide through the galleries for as long as their time allows.
