Museum will be open for extended hours during final week
OKLAHOMA CITY (September 10, 2024) – Edith Head: Hollywood’s Costume Designer will close on Sunday, Sept. 29, at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art (OKCMOA). Organized by OKCMOA and presented by The Ann Lacy Foundation, this blockbuster exhibition has enthralled local and out-of-state visitors with its 70 costumes, 20 sketches, three Academy Awards, and extensive career insights of the famed costume designer. Once the exhibition closes, it will not travel outside of Oklahoma City.
Though time to see the exhibition is running out, visitors will have extended morning and evening hours to enjoy the third-floor galleries. For more information, please go to okcmoa.com/visit.

Tuesday-Wednesday, Sept. 24-25: 9 am-7 pm
Thursday, Sept. 26: 9 am-9 pm
Friday, Sept. 27: 9 am-7 pm

Sunday, Sept. 29: 9 am-7 pm
“This exhibition has been tremendously successful, and we’re excited to offer visitors additional time to see it before it closes,” said President and CEO Michael Anderson, PhD.
A robust programming schedule has accompanied the exhibition, and tours and classes have sold out quickly throughout its run, as have screenings in the Edith Head Film Series. Visitors do, however, have the opportunity to see three more Hollywood classics in the Noble Theater:
- Sunset Boulevard | Saturday, Sept. 14 at 2 p.m.
- Funny Face | Saturday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
- Breakfast at Tiffany’s | Saturday, Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The 48th annual Renaissance Ball, which took place last Friday, Sept. 6, was themed around the summer exhibition and raised over $380,000 for the upcoming exhibition season.
