OKCMOA Announced Renewed Bank of America Museums on Us® Sponsorship

Along with the free museum admission, BofA conserves historically significant work at OKCMOA to be on display this month.

OKLAHOMA CITY (February 13, 2025) – The Oklahoma City Museum of Art (OKCMOA) is pleased to announce the renewal of Bank of America’s Museums on Us® program in 2025. This valued partnership reflects Bank of America’s commitment to making art and culture accessible to all while supporting OKCMOA’s mission to enrich lives through the visual arts.

Through the Museums on Us® program, cardholders from Bank of America, Merrill, and Bank of America Private Bank receive free general admission to OKCMOA’s art galleries on the first full weekend of every month by presenting an active card with a photo ID. This partnership provides an opportunity for individuals to experience OKCMOA’s world-class exhibitions at no cost.

“Bank of America cardholders who visit OKCMOA will have exciting exhibitions to look forward to in the coming year, including From the Vault: The 80th Anniversary Exhibition and Discovering Ansel Adams, opening June 7,” said OKCMOA President and CEO Michael Anderson, PhD.

Last year, OKCMOA received funding through Bank of America’s Art Conservation Project, a global program that provides grants to nonprofit cultural institutions to conserve historically or culturally significant works of art that are in danger of deterioration. Through the grant, OKCMOA was able to conserve a historically significant work—an acrylic painting on canvas, Khufu (1965), by artist Sam Gilliam. The work is on display as part of the exhibition From the Vault: The 80th Anniversary Exhibition.

“Oklahoma City museums, including OKCMOA, serve as a cornerstone of our city, contributing to our thriving economy, educating and enriching communities and opening eyes to a greater cultural understanding,” said Tony Shinn, President, Bank of America Oklahoma City. “Providing support through programs such as Museums on Us and the Art Conservation Project to OKCMOA is just one of the ways we are helping improve the quality of life in the communities we serve.”

For more than 10 years, Bank of America Oklahoma City has supported the arts through community programs, offering bank-curated exhibitions and providing curators access to its inventory of art. With the conservation project now complete, Khufu is displayed for the first time since 2018 in OKCMOA’s eightieth anniversary exhibition, showcasing works from the Museum’s permanent collection that tell the story of its lasting impact for generations.

OKCMOA visitors can utilize their free Museums on Us pass to see the current installations on view, including Postwar Abstraction and Land Use: Humanity’s Interaction with Nature, as well as the redesigned Chihuly exhibition, Dale Chihuly: The Oklahoma Collection, which opens March 8, just in time for spring break.
