BofA aims to make art accessible to more people through free admission, conservation
OKLAHOMA CITY (March 2, 2026) — The Oklahoma City Museum of Art (OKCMOA) is pleased to announce the renewal of Bank of America’s Museums on Us® program in 2026. This valued partnership reflects Bank of America’s commitment to making art and culture accessible to all while supporting OKCMOA’s mission to enrich lives through the visual arts.
Through the Museums on Us® program, Bank of America, Merrill, and Bank of America Private Bank cardholders receive free general admission to OKCMOA’s art galleries on the first full weekend of every month by presenting an active card with a photo ID. This partnership provides an opportunity for individuals to experience OKCMOA’s world-class exhibitions at no cost.
“Bank of America cardholders who visit OKCMOA will have exciting exhibitions to look forward to in the coming year, including The Sense of Beauty and The Triumph of Nature, opening June 20 and October 31, respectively,” said OKCMOA President and CEO Michael Anderson, PhD.
In 2024, OKCMOA received funding through Bank of America’s Art Conservation Project, a global program that provides grants to nonprofit cultural institutions to conserve historically or culturally significant works of art that are in danger of deterioration. Through the grant, OKCMOA was able to conserve a historically significant work—an acrylic painting on canvas, Khufu (1965), by artist Sam Gilliam. The work is on display in the exhibition The Legacy of the Washington Color School, which highlights the work of artists such as Gilliam, Alma Thomas, Anne Truitt, and Kenneth Victor Young, who were historically overlooked in the Washington Color School narrative.
For more than a decade, Bank of America Oklahoma City has supported the arts through community programs, offering bank-curated exhibitions and providing curators access to its inventory of art.
“Art is a powerful bridge that unites communities through shared experiences and perspectives. Bank of America is proud to build upon our 14-year partnership with the Oklahoma City Museum of Art through our Museums on Us program, helping expand access to world-class works of art for residents and visitors to Oklahoma City,” said Tony Shinn, Bank of America Oklahoma City president.
OKCMOA visitors can utilize their free Museums on Us pass to see the current installations on view, including Paul Reed: A Retrospective, The Legacy of the Washington Color School, and Dale Chihuly: The Oklahoma Collection.
