A Moment in the Garden
Step into the tranquil atmosphere of Woman in a Garden by Raimundo de Madrazo y Garreta with this mini puzzle inspired by the painting. Its serene composition and intricate detail offer a satisfying challenge and a beautiful image to assemble piece by piece.
Drawn from the celebrated special exhibition The Sense of Beauty: Six Centuries of Painting from Museo de Arte de Ponce, this design is part of a sweeping presentation of six centuries of painting by European, Puerto Rican, and North American artists. On view at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art through September 20, on the third floor.
Smells Like Tomatoes
Equal parts playful and refined, this 8-oz ceramic candle by Tennessee-based studio Paddywax brings a burst of Mediterranean summer energy into the home. Hand-painted details and bold fragrance come together in a design that feels both collectible and transportive.
The scent is an unexpected standout: heirloom tomato layered with lemon and sage. Bright citrus top notes of lemon, lime, eucalyptus, and white peppercorn open into a green, garden heart of heirloom tomato, gardenia, and fresh garden greens, before settling into an earthy base of sage, basil, pine leaf, and lovage root.
Fresh, verdant, and a little surprising, it is summer captured in a flame.
Smells Like Tuscany
Rooted in the essence of island life, Classica Donna evokes a place where sea air and wild blooms blur the edges of time and memory. Inspired by Isola d’Elba off the Tuscan coast, this artisan fragrance captures the feeling of being both grounded and elsewhere, surrounded by salt, sunlight, and flowers carried on the wind.
Handcrafted and finished in the coastal village of Marciana Marina, each bottle reflects the quiet ritual of Italian perfumery and the landscape that shapes it.
The scent opens with a luminous bouquet of orange blossom, myrtle, gardenia, and jasmine, soft, floral, and sun-warmed. Marine citrus notes weave through the heart of the fragrance, evoking the sea’s brightness and salt-kissed breeze, while a base of Mediterranean woods and shrubs grounds the composition with an earthy, coastal depth.
Now Pouring at the Museum Bar
Inspired by Flaming June and the spirit of Puerto Rico, “Beaches and Cream” is the new specialty cocktail at the OKCMOA Bar! This twist on a piña colada, Puerto Rico’s national cocktail, blends Maggie’s Farm pineapple rum, silver rum, amaretto, pineapple juice, coconut cream, heavy cream, and grenadine, finished with a cherry and orange garnish. Prefer a nonalcoholic option? This drink is also available as a mocktail. Raise a glass to one of the many iconic paintings on view in The Sense of Beauty, and savor a taste inspired by its island home.
Gainsborough: The Fashion of Portraiture
This richly illustrated publication explores the intersection of portraiture and fashion in the work of Thomas Gainsborough (1727–1788), one of eighteenth-century England’s most celebrated society portraitists.
Through essays and entries on works from the accompanying exhibition, the book examines how clothing, identity, and social status were carefully constructed—and sometimes reimagined—within the painted portrait. From aristocrats to figures such as Ignatius Sancho, Gainsborough’s sitters reveal the complexity of eighteenth-century life and style.
A compelling look at how fashion shaped representation, this volume offers insight into Gainsborough’s enduring influence on portraiture and visual culture.
