Tickets Now Available to OKCMOA’s Art in Bloom

Oklahoma City Museum of Art announces programming for its spring fundraiser

OKLAHOMA CITY (February 27, 2025) —The Oklahoma City Museum of Art (OKCMOA) is excited to announce the return of its highly anticipated springtime extravaganza, Art in Bloom, the weekend of April 11-13. This vibrant festival of flowers, presented by Joan Payne, will showcase the work of eighteen Oklahoma floral designers who will transform the Museum’s building with breathtaking botanic installations inspired by the works on display. Visitors can enjoy Art in Bloom beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday through 5 p.m. on Sunday, with a full weekend of special programming. 

Also returning this year is Bubbles & Blooms, taking place on Friday, April 11, from 7 to 10 p.m. This exclusive 21+ event will take place on the Roof Terrace. A separately ticketed experience from Art in Bloom, this sophisticated spring celebration invites guests to enjoy stunning downtown views, live music, floral-infused drinks and light bites. Tickets are now available for purchase on the Museum’s website. 

Access to Art in Bloom is included with each programming and events ticket. The complete schedule of programming taking place throughout the weekend can be found below and online at okcmoa.com.

Behind the Blooms: In Conversation with the Floral Artists
9 a.m. | OKCMOA Galleries
$35 for Members, $50 for Non-Members 
Join OKCMOA for an exclusive guided tour of Art in Bloom, led by Bryon Chambers. Be among the first to experience the stunning floral sculptures before the Museum opens to the public. Engage in conversation with five featured florists as they share insights into their creative process, techniques, and inspirations. Discover how their breathtaking designs complement the works on display, bringing a fresh perspective to the Museum experience!

Bubbles & Blooms
7-10 p.m. | Roof Terrace 
Designed for adults 21+ 
$75 for Members, $100 for Non-Members 
Don’t miss the floral cocktail party, Bubbles & Blooms, featuring flower-themed cocktails by WanderFolk Spirits, light bites, live entertainment, access to the Art in Bloom galleries, and skyline views on our Roof Terrace!

 

Saturday, April 12

Babies at the Museum: Springtime Sprouts
9-10:30 a.m. | OKCMOA Family Space
Designed for 0 to 24 months and guardians 
$5 for Members, $15 for Non-Members
Babies at the Museum begins with complimentary coffee and social time in our colorful Family Space. Participants then head to the galleries for a fun-filled thirty minutes with a featured work of art before the Museum opens to the public. The program ends back in the Family Space with age-appropriate activities. 

Floral Mosaics
9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. | OKCMOA studio classrooms 
Led by teaching artist Jackie Nelson 
Designed for adults 18+ 
$35 for Members, $55 for Non-Members
Discover the beauty of stained-glass art in this hands-on floral mosaic class! Participants will design and create their own vibrant floral-inspired mosaics using colorful glass pieces. Learn essential techniques like cutting, arranging, and grouting to bring your design to life. This class offers a fun and creative way to craft a stunning piece of art to brighten any space, whether you’re new to mosaics or an experienced artist.

Drop-In Art: Painted Flowerpots 
11 a.m.-4 p.m. | Museum Lobby
Free with Art in Bloom admission
Join us for a special, spring-themed Drop-In Art! Find inspiration in the stunning floral arrangements found throughout the galleries and create a painted flowerpot, then leave with a seed packet of your choice to take home.

Flower Vendor: Felicity Flower Company 
Saturday and Sunday | 12-4 p.m. 
OKCMOA Lobby
Purchase your own stunning bouquet with Brianne Bibb, founder and owner of Felicity Flower Company! Dedicated to organic growing methods, Felicity Flower Co. cultivates and hand-harvests each bloom just a day before delivery, ensuring the freshest, highest-quality flowers. Their locally grown arrangements capture the ever-changing beauty of the seasons, blending vibrant colors and textures for truly inspired designs.

The Art of Bitters: Crafting Tinctures for Cocktails with Josh Cockle
2-4 p.m. | OKCMOA Mezzanine Dining Room 
Designed for adults 21+ 
$60 for Members, $75 for Non-Members 
Join OKCMOA and Josh Cockle, founder of Winship’s Bitters, for a hands-on workshop on crafting tinctures and bitters. Explore a variety of spices, roots, and botanicals while learning the art of flavor balancing, and create your own custom blends to take home. With over a decade of experience in the craft cocktail industry, Cockle shares his expertise in small-batch bitters production, offering insight into his journey from bartender to nationally recognized bitters maker. 

Guided Rose Paintings
2-5 p.m. | OKCMOA studio classrooms 
Led by teaching artist Jackie Nelson 
Designed for adults 18+ 
$35 for Members, $55 for Non-Members
Immerse yourself in the beauty of floral art with a guided painting session inspired by Edward Steichen’s Heavy Roses, Voulangis, France. This class invites adults to explore the soft, ethereal qualities of light and shadow while creating their own rose-inspired masterpiece. Step-by-step instruction will help participants blend colors, layer textures, and achieve a moody, atmospheric effect reminiscent of Steichen’s work. This class is perfect for beginners and experienced painters seeking inspiration from timeless art. Templates will be provided, so drawing skills are not required.

 

Sunday, April 13

Monarch Butterfly Conservation: Gardens, Prairies, and People

Emily Geest, PhD, Conservation Scientist at the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Gardens

Monarch butterflies are an iconic species in Oklahoma. Conservation efforts rely on three key pillars: gardens, prairies, and people. Backyard gardens provide essential habitat, well-managed lands support healthy populations, and community science drives vital research.
Join OKCMOA and the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Gardens in the Noble Theater to discover ongoing projects in Oklahoma and how you can contribute to protecting monarchs for future generations.

Origami & Paper Flower Bouquets
11 a.m.-1 p.m. | OKCMOA studio classrooms 
Led by teaching artist Jackie Nelson
Designed for kids ages 8-12 
$15 for Members, $25 for Non-Members 
Students will learn the art of origami and paper crafting to create a vibrant bouquet of handmade flowers. With step-by-step guidance, they’ll fold, cut, and assemble colorful paper into beautiful blossoms, perfect for gifting or decorating. This class encourages fine motor skills, creativity, and a love for hands-on art.

Tinctures for Health with Shunda Bertrand
2-4 p.m. | OKCMOA Mezzanine Dining Room 
$60 for Members, $75 for Non-Members
Join certified aromatherapist, experienced herbalist, and educator Shunda Moton-Bertrand for an engaging, hands-on workshop exploring the tradition of herbal bitters and their roles in health. Learn about key bitter herbs, their historical uses, and how they interact with the body. Under Shunda’s expert guidance, you’ll craft your own custom bitter tincture to take home. 
This interactive session blends herbal knowledge with practical application, making it perfect for beginners and enthusiasts alike!

Floral Screen Prints
2:30-5 p.m. | OKCMOA studio classrooms 
Led by teaching artist Jackie Nelson 
Designed for adults 18+ 
$35 for Members, $55 for Non-Members 
Discover the art of screen printing in this hands-on class inspired by the beauty of botanical designs! Designed for adults, this workshop will guide participants through the entire process—from sketching a floral motif to transferring, inking, and printing your design onto paper. Experiment with color and composition as you create stunning, handmade prints. This class offers a fun and creative way to bring floral imagery to life through screen printing.

WanderFolk Botanical Cocktail Competition
5:30-8 p.m. | OKCMOA Roof Terrace 
Designed for adults 21+ 
$35 for Members and Non-Members 
Join OKCMOA and WanderFolk Spirits for a Botanical Cocktail Competition! Top industry talent will showcase their mixology skills using WanderFolk’s signature Garden Society spirits. Sip on innovative spring-themed cocktails, groove to live music, and vote for your favorite mixologist to win cash prizes! With expert bartenders, a vibrant atmosphere, and unbeatable city vistas, it’s the perfect night out to celebrate the closing of our 6th annual Art in Bloom!
