Inspired by the dramatic black-and-white landscapes of Ansel Adams, this hands-on class guides students through the process of reduction printmaking—a relief technique where multiple layers of a single block are carved and printed in stages. This class emphasizes tonal contrast, composition, and the art of visual storytelling. Participants will study Adams’s use of the Zone System and apply similar principles to create powerful, layered prints that echo the emotion and structure of his iconic photographs.
This class is designed for adults 18+. All supplies will be provided.
For questions regarding the class or registration, please email Programs Manager Neely Simms at nsimms@okcmoa.com.
Bonus! Stop by the OKCMOA Bar before class—registrants are welcome to bring a drink and enjoy a relaxed, sip-and-paint experience.
