This class starts with a walk-through of the special exhibition The Sense of Beauty: Six Centuries of Painting from Museo de Arte de Ponce, where we will look for inspiration in José R. Oliver’s Santa María “La Santera” and Raimundo de Madrazo y Garreta’s Woman in a Garden. Back in the classroom, students will explore color, pattern, and composition while using a variety of mixed-media materials—torn paper, fabric, layered textures, and more—to create vibrant garden-inspired scenes.
Note: Two members of the OKCMOA staff will be on-site throughout the duration of each class session. Authorized adults must check students in and out at the Theater Lobby desk. For questions regarding the class or registration, please email Programs Manager Neely Simms at nsimms@okcmoa.com.
