In this four-part studio series, students ages 8 through 12 will explore how artists use different materials to create meaning. Each class focuses on one material, encouraging experimentation, observation, and intentional decision-making.
CLASS SCHEDULE
June 10: Clay | Form & Texture
Objective: Students will create a small sculpture using multiple building techniques and surface textures.
June 17: Acrylic Paint | Colors & Layers
Objective: Students will understand how acrylic paint can be layered to create depth, transparency, and visual interest.
June 24: Oil Pastels | Light, Shadow, & Resist
Objective: Students will explore how oil pastels create resist effects and strong contrast.
July 1: Ink | Expressive Line & Movement
Objective: Students will explore how line can communicate movement and emotion using ink.
Space is limited to 12 students. Registration covers all four sessions and is not prorated for missed classes. All supplies will be provided. Students are welcome to bring snacks and drinks to class.
