Led by Museum educator Tori Waldron, each session features a specially selected book that complements the themes of a current exhibition. Enjoy refreshments—including a themed snack and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages—in the Museum Store before joining a guided discussion linking literature to the art on view in our galleries.
The Warmth of Other Suns
The Museum Book Club will feature a guided discussion of The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson in the Museum Store and exhibition galleries on Thursday, May 14 from 5:30 to 7 pm.
“In this beautifully written masterwork, Pulitzer Prize–winning author Isabel Wilkerson presents a definitive and dramatic account of one of the great untold stories of American history: the Great Migration of six million Black citizens who fled the South for the North and West in search of a better life, from World War I to 1970.” (source: https://www.amazon.com/Warmth-Other-Suns-Americas-Migration/dp/0679763880)
