Join the Moderns for an exclusive evening at Current Studio’s feature exhibition:

‘SHIFT’
presented by FACTORY OBSCURA

When: Wednesday, February 7, 2018 | 6:30-8:30 pm
Where: Current Studio | 1218 N Penn Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73107

Enjoy complimentary beer, wine, and ‘SHIFT,’ a fully-immersive, experiential art installation that challenges the participant to physically explore the full-sensory environment. Factory Obscura, a collective of artists and community builders, formed in 2017 to produce large scale installations that require new forms of audience engagement. This is the first such installation from the collective, and it is truly an unconventional and not-to-be-missed art experience.

Please note, this is a Moderns-only event. Space is limited—only 75 spots – and tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Register online or by phone at (405) 278-8237. For questions, please contact moderns@okcmoa.com.

Artist Auguste Rodin's "The Gates of Hell" illustrates many tormenting emotions. "The Fallen Caryatid with Urn" sculpture depicts a woman folding into herself while bearing the weight of a vessel on her shoulder. She does not seem to be burdened by the vessel but rather resigned to its placement; her resting eyes suggesting melancholy or sadness rather than anguish. The term "caryatid" refers to sculptures of female figures that function as supportive columns, often found in ancient Greek architecture. The work was originally titled "Sorrow" and was intended for "The Gates of Hell." Visit "True Nature: Rodin and the Age of Impressionism" before it closes on October 22! Go to okcmoa.com/buytickets
