This year, OKCMOA and SONIC Foundation are bringing Family Day straight into your home! We’ve made art kits, tours, and videos to learn about SCULPTURE. Follow these steps:
Pick up an art kit at one of these Metropolitan Library locations* for free:
- Almonte Library (out of boxes)
- Capitol Hill Library (out of boxes)
- Del City Library (out of boxes)
- Ralph Ellison Library (out of boxes)
- Southern Oaks Library (out of boxes)
*Be sure to check hours and availability by calling ahead.

Stop by the OKCMOA Museum Store to purchase a kit for $25 beginning January 31.

Gather the art supplies listed below and get ready to follow along with the videos!
Make a Dale Chihuly Macchia!
Supplies:
- Shrink film (1 sheet)
- Drawing paper (1 sheet)
- Pencil
- Colored pencils and/or permanent markers (These will stain fabrics and surfaces, so use carefully!)
- Scissors
- Chipboard or cardboard (1 piece or scrap)
- Wooden base
- Acrylic paints (These will stain fabrics and surfaces, so use them carefully!)
- Paint palette or paper plate
- Paintbrush
- Glue
- Oven or toaster oven (Be sure to ask an adult for help!)

Supplies:
- Drawing paper (1 sheet)
- Pencil

- Scissors
- Glass gem (about 2” diameter)
- Tacky glue

Make a mobile like Alexander Calder!
Supplies:
- Wire (8 pieces, about 14” long each)
- Chipboard or thin cardboard (2-3 pieces)
- Pencil
- Acrylic paints (These will stain fabrics and surfaces, so use them carefully!)
- Paintbrush
- Paint palette
- Scissors
- Washi tape
- Thumbtack (Be careful; it’s sharp!)
- Paper towel
- Twine, yarn, or string (about 12” long)
