October at OKCMOA blends cinematic thrills, extraordinary true stories, and acclaimed new films from around the world. Get in the Halloween spirit with our Art House of Horrors series, including National Theatre Live‘s Frankenstein, Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s chilling French-language auto-remake Serpent’s Path, Michael Mann’s genre-defining Manhunter: The Final Cut, Na Hong-jin’s audacious creature feature Hope, and Masaki Kobayashi’s ravishing ghost-story anthology Kwaidan. The month also features award-winning festival discoveries such as John Wilson’s hilarious documentary The History of Concrete, Paula González-Nasser’s luminous debut The Scout, Jane Schoenbrun’s delirious ode to the slasher film Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma and Cristian Mungiu’s Palme d’Or-winning drama Fjord, the official Romanian submission for Best International Feature Film at the Academy Awards. Audience favorite Manhattan Short Film Festival returns for additional screenings this month, while Exhibition on Screen’s latest documentary, James McNeill Whistler, offers an unprecedented look at one of America’s most influential artists.

Fjord is Romania’s official submission for Best International Feature Film at the 2027 Academy Awards.
