Free admission for active-duty military personnel and their families from May 17 through September 1.
OKLAHOMA CITY (May 15, 2025) — The Oklahoma City Museum of Art (OKCMOA) is honored to participate once again in Blue Star Museums, a nationwide initiative offering free admission to active-duty military personnel and their dependents from Armed Forces Day through Labor Day.
In 2025, the program will run from Saturday, May 17, through Monday, September 1. During this time, guests can also enjoy free access to the Museum’s highly anticipated summer exhibition, Discovering Ansel Adams, on view June 7 through September 28.
“We are proud to welcome military families to the Museum each summer as a small gesture of appreciation for their service and sacrifice,” said Michael Anderson, OKCMOA President & CEO. “It’s our honor to be part of this nationwide effort to connect our armed forces with the arts.”
Through Blue Star Museums, free admission is extended to the military ID holder and up to five family members per visit. The ID holder may be an active-duty service member or a dependent with an appropriate ID card.
Eligible participants include those currently serving in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard (regardless of status), Active Duty and Reservists, U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, and NOAA Commissioned Corps. Accepted forms of ID include the Geneva Convention Common Access Card (CAC), DD Form 1173 (dependent ID), or DD Form 1173-1.
Free admission must be claimed in person at the Museum. Online reservations are not available for this program.
Blue Star Museums is a collaborative effort of the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums across the country to show appreciation for our military community.
