This year, OKCMOA and SONIC Foundation are bringing Family Day straight into your home! We’ve made art kits, tours, and videos to learn about frescoes. Follow these steps:
Pick up an art kit at one of these Metropolitan Library locations* for free beginning May 27:

- Southern Oaks Library (SOLD OUT)

Gather the art supplies listed below and get ready to follow along with the videos!
Make a fresco!
Supplies:
- Plaster of Paris – about ½ cup
- Styrofoam bowl
- Spoon
- Jute – about 3 inches
- Tempera paints
- Paintbrushes
- Paper towel
- Drawing paper
- Pencil
Make a paper mosaic!
Supplies:
- Grid paper (1 sheet)
- Pencil
- Colored pencils
- Black cardstock (1 piece)
- Scissors
- Elmer’s squeezable glue
- Paper tesserae (mosaic squares) – you can purchase pre-cut squares or cut up colorful paper yourself
Design a triclinium (dining room)
Supplies:
- Drawing paper
- Pencil
- Colored pencils
- Markers
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Mosaic squares — do the mosaic activity first and use the rest for this project or cut up colorful paper to make mosaic squares
- Wood pieces – 3 rectangles (2” x 1”) and 3 squares (1/2”)
- An empty box — shoebox or small, shallow shipping box
With an adult’s permission, post your creations on social media using #OKCMOAffd to be entered into a drawing for a SONIC gift card.
