Museum Films in January 2023

Happy New Year from Museum Films! Our January schedule features official Oscar submissions from Austria and Spain, highlights from Sight & Sound magazine’s Greatest Films of All Time Critics’ Poll, two artful new takes on the haunted house thriller, a pair of heartwarming festival award winners, beautifully restored black-and-white classics and mid-career masterpieces by Abbas Kiarostami.

Voted the best film of all time in the 2022 Sight and Sound critics’ poll, Chantal Akerman’s epic feminist masterpiece details the catastrophic breakdown of a widowed housewife’s daily routine.

The autobiographical second installment of the Koker trilogy follows a filmmaker who travels back to the location of his previous film, Where is the Friend’s House?, in the wake of an earthquake.
