Family Fun at OKCMOA
We love family visitors! Please check out our tips for visiting and upcoming family-friendly programming below.Â
Kids 17 and under always receive free admission. Free children’s admission is possible thanks to generous support from The Chickasaw Nation, The Ann Lacy Foundation, Cresap Family Foundation, and Chuck and Renate Wiggin.
Tips for Visiting
OKCMOA is dedicated to providing an activated Museum space at all times with interactive experiences and art-making activities. Plus, children 17 and under receive FREE admission to the Museum!
- Strollers are welcome in the galleries, but they must be pushed by an adult. Strollers can be checked out free of charge from the Admissions Desk. Â
- Nursing is welcome in all public spaces in the Museum. A private nursing space is available. Please ask a Visitor Services associate for assistance.
- Changing tables are available in all public restrooms except the Mezzanine level.Â
- No food or drinks are allowed in the galleries, but are welcome on the landings on each floor.Â
- Please leave large bags and backpacks at home or out of view in the trunk of your car. If you need an exception for a medical reason, please see the Admissions Desk.Â
- Do not carry children on your shoulders or in carriers on your backs.Â
- You don’t need to be quiet in the galleries! We encourage talking, questions, and even the occasional song in our galleries.Â
- Pack a sketch pad and a regular pencil (no pens) if your children like to draw or write. Give them time to sketch or write their reactions to the art, and free to have a seat on the floor.
- Please remember Museum manners by not touching the art or the walls around it, avoiding running, and staying behind the black lines on the floor of the galleries.Â
- Download our Be Your Own Guide for games to play in the galleries and more!Â
- Prepare for your visit by downloading our Social Narrative before you come to the Museum.
Offered on the second Saturday of each month from 9 to 10:30 am, Babies at the Museum is designed for visitors 0 to 24 months and their caregivers.
This program begins with complimentary coffee and social time in the Family Space. After settling in, visitors will head to the galleries for a fun-filled thirty minutes in front of the month’s featured work of art, before the Museum opens to the public. We will wrap up the morning with playtime in the Family Space, where babies can enjoy age-appropriate activities and adults can plan their next Museum visit!
Playdate & Create will be offered on the fourth Saturday of each month. Designed for children ages 2 through 4 and their adults, each session includes themed gallery exploration, story time, and a hands-on art-making activity—perfect for curious minds and busy little hands. Grown-ups participate alongside their child, fostering creativity and connection.

Family Space
Located between Admissions and the Theater Lobby, the OKCMOA Family Space welcomes all visitors to tap into their creativity.
One side of the space focuses on art-related activities developed by Museum educators, and the other functions as a free-play space for crawling and newly walking visitors and respite for their grownups.
